The CT Oncology Association is pleased to offer a lunch series of webinars to inform and remind CT oncology teams of the options and financial support available to patients.  This has been a trying period for all of us especially with the pandemic impact on employment and insurance coverage, CT patients with cancer are struggling more than ever.

This is the first of two webinars "Patient Support and Resources - Highlights from our Partners" will be offered from noon to 1 pm on Tuesday November 2 and Thursday November 11.  This will be a rapid fire series of presentations from 5 different CtOA Corporate Partners each day. The webinar series, like all of our CtOA programs, is available to all physicians, clinical and administrative staff of our CT practices at no charge.

At this program, Nov. 11, we will hear from AstraZeneca, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Coherus Biosciences, Pfizer and Alexion Pharmaceuticals.

On Nov 2, we will hear from Bristol Myers Squibb, Incyte, Seagen, Genentech, and Sanofi.

These presentations will offer a personal conversation with the audience, sharing updates on key information and ways that patients can access support resources with links for further information, and current contact information.   This program will be conducted over a virtual platform where we will allow each presenter to share the screen and personally provide their information.  Support materials will be placed on the CtOA web page (www.ctoncology.com) for ongoing access by members following the webinars.

This is a new series for the CT Oncology Association.  We had hoped to be doing these in person in the fall, but the Delta variant has forced us to pivot to virtual.  Since our members may have multiple staff members supporting patients, doing this as a lunchtime series was planned to help you fit the programs conveniently into their work schedule.

You will also want to save the date for an in person, dinner opportunity on November 17 in the greater Hartford area - more information will be coming shortly.

Please also save the date for Thursday December 9, when we present Bobbi Buell, speaking on “Get Ready for 2022”, a program on coding and reimbursement challenges for physicians and practices.  This will be presented from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, virtually, and we plan to resume in person meetings during 2022.  Registration for this program will be available on the website www.ctoncology.com before the end of October.  We are considering the possibility of opening up a dinner gathering for those who want to end the year with in person networking.  Please let me know if that is something that you might be interested in.  We could stream in the virtual presentation from Bobbi at this gathering, and those who wish to remain virtual will still be able to join the presentation remotely.

Stay healthy, and we will see each other soon!  There has been such a lot going on this year, we can't wait to update you on the new co-pay accumulator bill that was signed by the Governor in June, activity related to pharmacy oversight of medical practices and payer policies that adversely affect patient access from Anthem and Health New England.
