Send in Patient Care Scenarios for Direct Guidance

CONNECTICUT ONCOLOGY ASSOCIATION MEETING

Meeting Date: Thursday Jan.21, 2021     Time: Webinar Meeting 4:30 p.m. to 6/6:30 p.m.

Location: Webinar invitation and directions for connection will be emailed to all registered participants 2 to 3 days before the meeting

Topic  “New Reimbursement Rules and Must-Know Details for Physicians for 2021”

Speaker Roberta “Bobbi” Buell is a Principal for Provider Services & Reimbursement information for onPoint Oncology, Inc., and a nationally recognized expert in Oncology Reimbursement, and one of the most popular speakers that comes to our CT meetings.  Her newsletter, The E-Reimbursement News, is read by 4700 subscribers each month.    This is a not to be missed program for physicians and staff in every group in CT (hospital based or private.).  She introduced these topics in an intense presentation on Dec. 17 to a rapt audience.  We have asked her to return on Jan 21 for two reasons.  1) so those who missed her because of the snow storm in Dec can catch up, and 2) because attendees in Dec. asked for more details and follow-up once the year and rules started.

There are significant 2021 changes that will affect physicians and their patient management choices directly .  All interested members of the practice team:  physicians, APPs, nurses, administrators, and billing staff, are encouraged to join this invaluable call.  We had planned this call for Jan. 7, but shifted it to the 21st to allow for time to gather the direct guidance scenarios.

Fellow CT oncologists on the Dec call asked for clarification regarding some situations.  In preparation for the Jan 21 call, Bobbi has asked for our members to outline scenarios for which they would like specific guidance on how to code and document under the new rules.  Please send these scenarios to me at dawnho@aol.com before Friday Jan. 15 and Bobbi will discuss each of them specifically. These can be routine or unusual.  Send them in for clarification. and sharing of information for your own group and your CT colleagues.

We have set the time for this webinar near the end of the day to allow in office staff to attend, and for physicians to adjust patient schedules to free themselves up for participation as well.  We hope that this will meet your needs for this valuable information.

Bring your physician colleagues and staff.  You may register on the CT Oncology Association website, www.ctoncology.com, or by email to dawnho@aol.com.

We will also be discussing plans for the Connecticut Oncology Association projects and meetings in 2021, and look forward to participation from practice physicians, administration and nurses.  All are encouraged to attend.  We also extend a warm welcome to any Residents or Fellows who wish to join us.

Please join the Connecticut Oncology Association in thanking our 2020 and emerging 2021 Charter Oak Partners to Date for helping us to bring this education program to our members: Abbvie, Bristol Meyer Squibb, Celgene, Exelixis, Genentech, Heron Therapeutics, Merck, Seattle Genetics, Sanofi Genzyme, and Takeda Millenium.  2021 Corporate Partnership Applications are Now Available.  Please note that each Charter Oak Partner has useful product and contact information on their pages at the www.ctoncology.com website, for your convenience.

We would also like to thank our other 2020 Nutmeg level corporate partners: Astellas, Daiichi Sankyo, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Pfizer and Taiho Oncology.  We look forward to welcoming these partners and others in 2021.
