Registration

  • Any physician, nurse, staff, resident or fellow working in a Connecticut oncology practice, private or hospital based, is invited to join CT Oncology Association meetings for free - we just ask that you register for room and food planning.
  • This registration category applies to all industry staff who are either not Corporate Partners of CtOA or who are seeking to register beyond the two registrations allowed to Corporate Partners of CtOA

Mr. Newton is currently working at the Tidewater Cancer Center of Virginia, and as the Director of Financial Services and Practice Operations at the Community Oncology Alliance.

Mr. Newton was also previously the director of Cancer Specialists of Tidewater, Peninsula Cancer Institute and Riverside Cancer Infusion Center. Prior to joining the practice he was a CPA with the public accounting firm of Failes & Associates. During these 24 years beyond preparing tax returns and financial statements he helped physicians negotiate compensation contracts, benchmarked financial data, and used that data to help practices become more efficient.

Mr. Newton has presented and consulted at over 350 conferences and practices in 46 states on topics such as financial and practice management issues in medical practices, contracting with insurers, pharmacy management including managing pharmaceutical contracts, utilizing mid-level providers, and compensation models. His audiences have included physicians, administrators, clinical and administrative staff, and pharmaceutical executives.

Mr. Newton graduated with honors in 1990 from Old Dominion University with majors in Accounting and Finance.
